Haywood Early College is proud to recognize Ms. Bethea-Brown for being selected to represent Haywood County as the recipient of The James G. K. McClure Educational & Development Fund through The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina in partnership with GLOBAL NC.

Founded in 1995, GLOBAL NC provides transformative professional development opportunities for K-12 educators through immersive international learning experiences focused on global history, culture, education, and environmental studies. Through this prestigious opportunity, Ms. Bethea-Brown will engage in a unique educational experience designed to deepen global understanding and bring meaningful international perspectives back to the classroom.

As part of the program, participants will explore the history, culture, socio-political structures, educational systems, and environmental challenges of South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe while collaborating with educators from across North Carolina. The experience also emphasizes STEM-focused learning, conservation, global initiatives, and the shared challenges communities face around the world.

Ms. Bethea-Brown’s passion for education, global awareness, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students makes her an outstanding representative for Haywood County and Haywood Early College. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishment and excited for the impact this experience will have on our students, school, and community.
